How to Commission a Guitar

1. Get in touch
If you have an idea for a build and are interested in exploring it, the first step is to make contact.
Let me know whatever you have in mind, even if the idea is only half-formed. We can work together to figure out what it is that will suit you.
At this stage and I can provide a rough, no obligation quote for your custom guitar as we get an image of what it is you want.

2. Fine tune the details
If you decide to take it further, we can work together to plan out your build with as much or as little input from me as you want in the design process.
I can provide an accurate quote and approximate timescale at this point so that you have all of the information that you need to pull the trigger on the build.

3. The Build
Once we decide on the details, a 50% deposit will lock in your build slot and all you need to do after that is sit back and relax, let me do the heavy lifting at this stage.
Throughout the build I can provide updates straight to you so you know exactly how it's going. This stage can take several weeks, but we should have a rough end date before we start so you won't be left in the dark.

4. The Result
This is the easy part! After all the planning and excitement, your dream will be a reality and ready to leave my workshop.
This is the point that the balance will be due. Once payment has been received, your guitar will ship out to you or if you prefer you are welcome to drop by the workshop to pick it up.

Explore a selection of some of my favourite past guitar builds, each crafted with care and passion. While these are not available for sale, I hope they inspire your unique custom guitar journey. Let your creativity flow as you envision the perfect instrument tailored just you.
Facet Neck Offset Bass
This was a unique and rewarding build, packed with distinctive features. Its ultra-thin body, asymmetrical faceted neck, and compound fretboard radius make it incredibly ergonomic and visually striking. The bookmatched fretboard adds balance to the guitar's otherwise offset design, while the carved, hollow headstock and bold arm bevel enhance both aesthetics and comfort. It’s easily one of the most memorable instruments I’ve created.
Semi-hollow Multiscale Jazzmaster
To date the most difficult, insane and satisfying build that I have ever done. I ticked every box with this guitar and almost lost my sanity to create it. Thankfully, it is my favouite guitar and the cornerstone of what I want to do.
This build blends perfectly the old and the new, with its traditional stylings matched with modern features such as the multi-scale fretboard, compound radius fretboard and asymetrical neck carve which transitions from a hard V to a soft C along its length.
All this built into a neck through, semi hollow, carved top instrument with an inlaid "pickguard" make for a special guitar, right down to the pickups that I hand-wound specifically for it.
This is the guitar that I want to build.
LP Carve Top Style with Carved Back
This was the build that truly launched my career. Crafted in my original workshop during the COVID lockdown, it’s a guitar full of unique features while still holding onto a classic, traditional feel.
Using uncommon woods like Greenheart and Horse Chestnut, the build highlights the beauty and versatility of less conventional materials. The familiar LP shape is enhanced with deep back carvings and my own headstock design—refined for both playability and functionality—resulting in an instrument that honours tradition while offering a modern playing experience.
Rear-Routed Strat - Custom
Built specifically for a pickup maker, this guitar was designed for effortless pickup access—even with the strings still on—making swapping and testing as fast and efficient as possible.
Stripped back to focus on function, it offers exceptional playability and a clean, no-nonsense layout. There are no unnecessary extras—just the essential controls needed to fully explore and showcase what the pickups can do.
Emerald Druid - Prototype
A true experimental piece, this guitar is rich in visual detail, with striking laminations throughout and a design focused heavily on ergonomics. An asymmetrical neck carve, compound radius fretboard, and deep body contours—carved both front and back—make it exceptionally comfortable and visually bold, while offering effortless upper fret access.
Every element was carefully considered, and the result is not just a distinctive instrument, but one that delivers fantastic tone as well.
Jazzblaster - Custom
This guitar had one clear purpose—grunge. Taking the essence of a Jazzmaster and pushing it to the extreme, it was loaded with high-end hardware and custom electronics, including a “dark switch” and uniquely wound wide-range pickups. Especially when paired with a Big Muff fuzz, it delivered raw, unapologetic 90s aggression in every note.
To this day, it remains one of my all-time favourite builds.
